Or you can click here. The calculator is great because it will let you know where you are in reference to a normal BMI and weight.
This chart can also help you once you know what your BMI is. |
I also found this Ideal Weight Calculator. These are general ranges to give you an idea of what is healthy based on a minimal amount of information. There are other factors that could be at play. Check with your doctor if you have other health issues. My doctor said that 130 - 160 is a good range for me. I haven't been that little since high school...eek!
Right now I am very overweight. My BMI is over 30. This is really what got me motivated. I am unhealthy. Bottom line.
Take some time before you set your weight loss goals to learn more about your ideal weight and a normal BMI. Put being healthy first and I really believe that weight loss will follow!
I haven't set a "weight" goal, just a size goal.... but mostly, I just want to be fit and feel good. My favorite workout class is yoga, any kind. I have been doing yoga for 10 years now but only about 2 months out of each year.... so I'm no pro!
ReplyDeleteLast fall I hired a personal trainer.... it was great. She didn't pull a Jillian on me, she just helped me figure out a work out plan that was mostly weight training. I did yoga on my own and walked on my own. I lost 15 pounds and 2 sizes in my pants. (that sounded funny, giggling while I type) I have held it but I don't feel as healthy... cause I haven't worked out. So.... started yoga again. Feels good to feel a little sore!
I have heard this so many times, cardio, weights and flexibility... so even if I get my heart rate up and lift weights.... I still need the yoga. So, if you aren't doing yoga.... try it, try a few different kinds and different places so you know what is your favorite!
Ok... enough blah blah blah!
